RG3 vs. The NFL

Robert Griffin III is a junior Heisman winner going to Baylor, a college located in Waco, Texas. He has announced that he will NOT attend his senior year and enter the 2012 NFL draft.

RG3 will probably be drafted in the first or second rounds of the NFL draft but what team will draft him? That’s what I’m going to talk about today.

Everyone is 100% sure that Andrew Luck will be the number one pick in the draft. If that was true, then why didn’t he win the Heisman? I project Robert Griffin III to be the number one overall pick in the draft. He won the Heisman, so why shouldn’t he be the number one overall pick?

Now that that is cleared up, lets talk about how he will do in the NFL.

He needs to go to a team with a strong offensive line. If you have a quarterback who runs the ball a lot, and you can’t protect him, you’ll be forced to run the ball with your halfback. So if the Redskins or the Cowboys draft him, he won’t do very well.

Also, he needs good receivers. If he goes to a team with horrible wide receivers, his overall rating will be in the 50’s.

Finally, he can’t go to a team that’s just plain horrible. Just look at Cam Newton. He did amazing things in the 2011 season, but a horrible team drafted him, so he couldn’t go to the playoffs, which is what he deserved.

I think that if the Colts get the number one overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, they should draft Robert Griffin III, not Andrew Luck.
